backroom number crunchers

di Ospite
Hallo, könnte mir da vielleicht jemand weiter helfen? :P

In late spring, the backroom number crunchers who had powered Barack Obama's campaign to victory noticed that George Clooney had an almost gravitational tug on West Coast females ages 40 to 49.

Wie könnte man 'backroom number crunchers' in diesem zusammenhang übersetzen?

Hallo Gast,

Maybe something like die Hintergrundanalytiker? (although that’s not as informal as the English term).

Hello@all,

Or: data crunchers / number crunchers has a good many google hits, here's one that would tie in with Ponsomime's suggested translation of "Hintergrundanalytiker"

Just counting my queries ;)

Hi@everyone,

It's used in a more general sense as well for dealing with figures:

e.g. accounting software http://www.number-crunchers.co.uk/

It's also used to mean the computers that do the number crunching

Some more number-crunchers (the people);

“... so far none of the country's best number-crunchers have been able to fathom what it actually says.”

Hey fredbär,

The reason no number-cruncher has figured out that code is that the number-crunchers aren't working on solving the mystery. It's the letter-crunchers who are! 8-)

Cheers,
Yama

p.s. The comment thread at the end of the article you referred to is rather hilarious, for anyone looking for a good laugh or two.
