kurze Frage, was wäre denn eine gute Übersetzung für "to form a grudge"?
Der Sinn ist mir schon klar, aber wie könnte man das formulieren?

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever heard ‘to form a grudge’; ‘to bear a grudge’ sounds more usual (to my ear).

‘hold’ and ‘have’ are also possible;

As for the German translation, does this help?

Hey Joliinnn,

I have to agree with Ponsomime that a better collocation is "to bear a grudge." However, you can form an opinion.

Although "bear a grudge" is definitely a more classcial collocation to our ears than to "form a grudge", I think that in certain circumstances a distinction can be made between the two:
To bear a grudge is a statement of something that is. But how did the grudge get there in the first place? That's where to "form a grudge" comes in:
