Hallo zusammen,

kann mir jemand erklären, was „scenester’“ heißt?

z.B. 'I'm not a scenester. I'm out for a few months, then I disappear'

Quelle: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/mar/18/john-cusack-raven-poe-interview

Danke im Voraus.

Hey PM2,

Headlines aren't always the best place for detailed information, because they are so short. If you read the entire article (or at least skim through it), you should be able to understand exactly what the headline means.

In the article, the "complete" quote is as follows:

"I guess I wasn't a scenester in the end. Something must have worked out right as I'm still here – but I'm only a binge socialite. I'll be out in the world for a couple of months, but then I disappear."

By saying that he isn't/wasn't much of a scenester, Cusack means he doesn't/didn't necessarily hit up the social scene much, unlike many (most?) stars. A great example of a scenster is Paris Hilton, because she's always at parties and events, and definitely believes in "see and be seen."

You can also find a translation of "scenester" here:

Happy socializing,
