I loves you, Porgy

di Ospite

: Musiktite "l loves you, Porgy". Wikipedia konnte meine Frage nicht beantworten: Warum "loves" und nicht "love"?

Ich vermute, die falsche Form soll einen Slang, eine Mundart o.Ä. andeuten. Wisst Ihr mehr?

Hey Gast,

I can't answer your question, but I can add that in Japan, the names "Ai" and "Yu" are fairly common, which can obviously lead to some humorous conversations.

"Hey Yu, how is Ai?" "Ai is fine. Thanks for asking? And you"

"I heard that Ai loves Porgy." "Yeah, Yu, too."

And so on...

Hallo Gast,

I think the songwriter has deliberately used the wrong form of the verb to show that Bess is not well-educated.

There is a similar ‘error’ in “Bess, You Is My Woman Now”.
