Our field of competence includes the characterization of the mechanical behaviour of ceramic matrix composites, metallic matrix composites and advanced ceramic materials especially during thermo-mechanical loading.

Characteristic material values are determined using standardised testing methods ( Attestations of competence according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025 ) with the main investigation of damage mechanisms taking centre stage.

Its purpose is to safeguard the plasma from being cooled by impurities ejected from the wall and, conversely, protect the wall from excessive loading by the hot plasma.
