From January 1st 2009 on, heating costs will first be taken into account in the determination of the housing benefit.
For this purpose, a fixed amount for the heating costs will, depending on the household size, be added to the chargeable gross rent exclusive of heating.
The completed application has to be submitted to the housing benefit office of the competent city or municipality.
