Hierbei wird die Hornhaut mit einem speziellen Saugring fixiert und die unregelmäßige Hornhautoberfläche innerhalb des Trepans gerundet und entsprechend der vorher gemessenen Hornhautdicke auf 90 % der Tiefe genau trepaniert. ( Fig.1 )
Ziel des Verfahrens ist es, eine cirkuläre Narbe zu erzeugen, die wesentlich fester ist als das vom Konus befallene Hornhautgewebe.
