www.sixpackfilm.comIm Auftrag der RWE AG wurden 37.000 Luftbilddateien der Gesamtfläche Deutschlands mit einer Bodenauflösung von 20 Zentimetern und einem Datenvolumen von 38 Terabyte unter Verwendung des ECW-Komprimierungsverfahrens auf eine einzige Datei im ECW-Format von 875 GB komprimiert, bei gleichzeitiger Beibehaltung der Bildqualität.
„In Kombination aus ECW-Komprimierung und ECWP-Streaming wird das herkömmliche, langsame und speicherintensive Verfahren der Orthophoto-Mosaike und Bildkacheln weit in den Schatten gestellt“, sagt Dr. Matthias Alisch, Senior Communications Manager EMEA bei Intergraph SG&I.
