Darüber hinaus koordinierte er die Militärdiözese und organisierte die Ad-limina-Besuche der Bischöfe.
Im Jahre 2005 nahm er als Sekretär an der Konklave teil, in der Papst Benedikt XVI. zum Papst gewählt wurde.
