Dabei liegt ein Vektor in einem ersten Unterraum kleinerer Dimension.Der zweite Vektor steht orthogonal zu diesem Unterraum und repräsentiert das Residuum.
Durch eine anschließende Projektion auf einen zum Residuum othogonalen Unterraum wird aus der Bewegungsgleichung das Residuum der Approximation eliminiert und ein Modell mit geringerer Dimension erstellt.

One vector is located in a subspace with lower dimension, the other is orthogonal to the subspace and represents the residual.
By the projection on a second subspace which is orthogonal to the residual, the residual of the approximation is eliminated and a model with lower dimension is generated.
