Er promovierte im Jahr 2004 an der TU Wien zum Thema "Cryptographic Watermarking" und habilitierte sich an der TU München im Jahr 2009.

Das beschriebene Werkzeug TASTY ist ein sogenannter Compiler für kryptographische Protokolle.
