Er erhielt 1996 von der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung ein Feodor-Lynen-Stipendium an der Aristotle Universität in Thessaloniki, um zusammen mit Professor Panagiotopoulos auf dem Gebiet hemivariationeller Ungleichungen in der Dynamik zu arbeiten.
Danach kehrte er 1997 an den Lehrstuhl B für Mechanik zurück und war dort bis 2000 als Oberassistent tätig.
www.mavt.ethz.chAfter receiving his diploma in 1989, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute B of Mechanics and wrote his doctoral thesis under the guidance of Professor F. Pfeiffer.
In 1996 he received a Feodor Lynen Fellowship supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and spent one year at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki working with Professor P.D. Panagiotopoulos on hemivariational inequality problems in dynamics.
After this stay, he returned in 1997 to the Institute B of Mechanics as a senior engineer.
