Im ersten Halbjahr 2009 stieg das EBIT (Betriebsergebnis) um 13,0 Prozent auf 1,9 Mrd. € im Vergleich zur Vorjahresvergleichsperiode im Wesentlichen aufgrund der Erstkonsolidierung von OTE und Romtelecom.
Das EBIT der OTE und Romtelecom beinhaltet auch Abschreibungen von 0,3 Mrd. € sowie einen einmaligen positiven Effekt aufgrund des Kostenbeitrages des griechischen Staates zu einem freiwilligen Vorruhestandsprogramm der OTE und gegenläufigen Abfindungszahlungen im zweiten Quartal 2009.

In the first half of 2009, EBIT (profit from operations) increased by 13.0 percent year-on-year to EUR 1.9 billion, mainly as a result of the first-time consolidation of OTE and Romtelecom.
OTE and Romtelecom’s EBIT includes depreciation, amortization, and impairment losses of EUR 0.3 billion and a one-time positive effect due to the Greek government’s contribution to the cost of a voluntary early retirement program at OTE and, as offsetting effect, the recognition of a provision for entitlements to early retirement in the second quarter of 2009.
