Ziel der Mission in eine der extremsten Regionen unserer Erde war die Suche nach bisher unentdeckten Fundgebieten von Meteoriten und wenn möglich, die Bergung kosmischer Gesteinstrümmer aus dem Staub der Ténéré Wüste.
Es folgten Expeditionen in die rote Hammada, in die Wälder und Sümpfe Tartarstans und in die Rub al-Khali und Umm as-Samin Wüsten auf der arabischen Halbinsel.
Die Meteoritensammlung Buhl umfasst derzeit rund 300 Meteoriten, die 121 verschiedene Lokalitäten repräsentieren.

The Buhl Meteorite Collection currently consists of more than 300 meteorites representing 121 different locations.
