Die Antheringer Au, zusammen mit der Weitwörther und Irlacher Au 1.120 ha groß, ist ein besonderes Landschafts- und Vogelschutzgebiet.
Seltene und vom Aussterben bedrohte Arten wie Grauspecht, Hohltaube uvm. sind hier noch anzutreffen.
