Diese umfassen einerseits regionale Integrationsprozesse , vor allem in Europa , aber auch im Rahmen der World Trade Organization ( WTO ) , des North American Free Trade Agreement ( NAFTA ) oder der Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN ) , andererseits die Probleme unterentwickelter Länder .
Der weltweit einmalige europäische Integrationsprozess mit seiner nicht vorhersehbaren Ausdehnung des Integrationsgebietes und den mittlerweile sehr weit gehenden ökonomischen Verflechtungen stellt bisherige institutionelle Strukturen vor wachsende Herausforderungen.
