Hier in Puttgarden dankten die Pilger, die von der dänischen Insel Lolland kamen, ihrem Herrgott für die glückliche Überfahrt und gaben ein Dankopfer in den eichenen Opferstock, den sogenannten „Strand-block", der damals vor der Kapelle am offenen Strand stand.
