The " Communicator Award – Science Award of the Donors ' Association " is endowed with 50,000 euros and is the most important prize for science communication awarded in Germany.

Mit ihm wird der Verhaltensbiologe und Leiter der Bienenforschungsgruppe am Biozentrum der Universität Würzburg für die langjährige, vielfältige und originelle Vermittlung seiner Forschungsarbeiten und der Bienenforschung in die Medien und die Öffentlichkeit ausgezeichnet.
Der „ Communicator-Preis – Wissenschaftspreis des Stifterverbandes “ ist mit 50 000 Euro dotiert und gilt als die wichtigste Auszeichnung für die Kommunikation von wissenschaftlichen Ergebnissen in Medien und Öffentlichkeit in Deutschland.
