Eine besondere Bedeutung kommt der 1907 erworbenen Sammlung der Baronin Loreto aus den 1880er Jahren zu :
Sie verzeichnet 1.343 Archäologica und Ethnographica aus unterschiedlichen Regionen Brasiliens und aus seinen Anrainerstaaten (u.a. Bestände von den Bororo, Jivaro, Mawé, Tikuna, Tukano, Xiriana und Yuracaré).
Auch herausragende Einzelstücke kamen im 19. Jahrhundert in die Sammlung, wie etwa drei Objekte aus der Kunstkammer von Schloss Ambras in Tirol:

Exceptional individual pieces also entered the collection during the 19th century, for example three objects from the Kunstkammer in Ambras castle in Tyrol:
