Die Ruhrtriennale im ersten Jahr unter der künstlerischen Leitung des Komponisten und Theatermachers Heiner Goebbels bringt vom 17. August bis 30. September 2012 zahlreiche internationale Künstlerinnen und Künstler in die Metropole Ruhr.
Über 30 Produktionen, darunter rund 20 Uraufführungen, Neuproduktionen und Deutschlandpremieren sowie zahlreiche Konzerte und Gastspiele verwandeln die herausragenden Industriedenkmäler der Region in spektakuläre Aufführungsorte für Musik, Bildende Kunst, Theater, Tanz und Performance.

Seit 1997 arbeitet er im WDR-Studio in Essen, seit 2000 steht er als Moderator für die „Lokalzeit Ruhr“ vor der Kamera.

The 230 km long Ruhr Valley Cycle Route follows the River Ruhr from its source in Sauerland to where it flows into the River Rhine in Duisburg.
The cycle tour has been distinguished by the ADFC (German Cyclists' Federation) as a "4 star quality cycle route," which combines nature and culture and invites you to explore the Ruhr Area.
